Hi

Hi I have a Sambar Dias Classic. Am in the process of fitting rear rock and roll seats for camping away weekends. I have managed to find someone who has Sambar Spares here in the uk their number is 07557026197 and they have a large stock of stuff.

My name is Jackie and there are 3 other Sambars up here in Newcastle though they have the VW front.  Very Happy

Thank god for this forum opening as information regarding spares and servicing is woefully lacking.

Thanks for your info and welcome to the forum! Very Happy Any pics of your van?

I couldnt seem to find a UK based forum for info/spares etc so I thought 'What the hell' and made one myself.

I was going to post if you could post up some bigger pics. Whats the front panel called as its a different design to most of the VW style sambars ive seen. The headlights look like they are higher up
trence

Hi Adam. I've no idea what make the front is I bought the sambar from a dealer exactly the way it is. He imported it from Japan with some figaros & pao cars. As soon as I saw it I wanted it. Gonna add more stuff to it to make it more "surfer" looking. Roof rack & surfboard maybe.  Is there a pic on here of your van?
Adam

I will be honest...i dont own one! I started the forum to get more info on them before I buy one as there didnt seem to be any UK based forums.
trence

Oh right that's a good idea. What do you drive? I'm hoping to get an old beetle this year and do it up as a beach bug kinda thing.
Adam

Well Ive got an XR3i Cabriolet and the other half has got a Ka.

Ive just sold my camper van to fund a Sambar!...

roof racks

hi dose any one know how to get a roof rack i need one for my windsurfing stuf as it wont fit inside but no wear can help ???

Hi Hannah, you may find the bars for the Subaru Justy fit your Sambar. The only reservation I would have is because of the height it will be scary in high winds. It is bad enough without bars on top as it is. Have you ever driven the van in high winds? I have been scared shitless at times. You get blown all over the road unless you have a good bit of weight inside. Just a thought.
hannah

do you know what year i would need for the justy roof bars
my windsurf is 370 m and wont fit inside my car so last resort i have to put it on the roof
thank you dso much for your help !  Laughing
Adam

I use soft racks on my car for my surfboards but I would imagine winsurfing stuff is bigger and heavier so I probably wouldnt trust the soft rack to hold.

I have seen Sambars with racks though- just a question of tracking them down. Also maybe you could approach a local fabrication firm to build some custom racks specifically designed for your requirements. Though I think it would be expensive if you went down that route.
hannah

thank you so much that is exactly what i need ! all halfords said was they cant help me ! thanks adam ! Laughing  Laughing
